My doctor was the first person who introduced me to Pilates and I am so grateful for her. I had an Ulnar Nerve problem and she said that Pilates would help me. So, I began my journey of healing. Little did I know that Pilates would be so encompassing dealing with my whole body and not just my ulnar nerve problem.
When I first began, I was very limited in doing certain exercises. During and after that injury, I had other problems which I was limited but I never gave up. I have been doing Pilates for 10 years and continue to. I believe the key to doing Pilates is being consistent. The key component of Pilates is that it is gentle and that is what I need and continue to need. Pilates has improved my posture, I am stronger, it has improved my flexibility and my stomach is stronger. Pilates has helped me physically and emotionally.
When I began my journey to Pilates, I was slouched over due to years of being on the computer and I also have had severe bone issues. I have fallen a couple of times, had rib, back, knee and feet problems. When you have a strong core, Pilates helps in preventing injuries. I am so grateful for Junko for everything she has done and continues to do for me and my body. As the saying goes, “I’ve come a long way”!!! Thank you Dr., Junko and Pilates.
